About Sanatan Siddhashram
Sanatan Siddhashram, founded in 2017 by Ma Parvathy Baul, is the flagship initiative of the Sanatan Siddhashram Adhyatmika Vishwa Vidya Satra Foundation (SSAVSF), a Section 8 company.
The Ashram is dedicated to preserving, practising and promoting the Baul tradition, a distinctive path of Yoga and Bhakti rooted in the ancient Sahajia philosophy associated with Buddhist practitioners and Natha yogis.
Over time, Sahajia teachings became closely connected with the Vaishnava tradition under Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Nityananda Mahaprabhu, contributing to the development of the Vaishnava Sahajia tradition. Baul practices also interacted with elements of Islamic mysticism, leading to the emergence of the Fakir lineage while continuing to retain the central Sahajia principle of Jugal, or spiritual union.
Through residential learning, spiritual practice, music, oral transmission, and the Guru–Shishya Parampara, Sanatan Siddhashram works to ensure that this living tradition is preserved and passed on to future generations.
