1. About the Campaign

This campaign supports Hinduphobia Tracker, the flagship initiative of Gavishti Foundation launched in August 2024. It maintains a publicly accessible database documenting incidents that meet its defined criteria for religiously motivated hate crimes against Hindus worldwide.

2. The Problem and the Solution

Incidents of violence, discrimination, restrictions on religious practices, targeted hate speech, and coercive proselytisation affecting Hindus are often documented inconsistently. The absence of a structured database makes it difficult for researchers, policymakers, journalists, and human-rights advocates to identify patterns or undertake evidence-based interventions.

Hinduphobia Tracker addresses this gap through:

• Monitoring reported incidents across India and other countries
• Reviewing available evidence and supporting documentation
• Classifying incidents under 8 primary and 76 subcategories
• Recording only cases with demonstrable elements of religious hatred
• Maintaining separate records for confirmed and undecided cases
• Publishing research papers, reports, and data-driven analysis
• Enabling the public to report incidents or dispute recorded cases

Campaign funds will support researchers, verification teams, technology and database maintenance, documentation, legal and policy research, report preparation, and public awareness. Hindu Fund has extended grants totalling ₹22.8 lakh to Gavishti Foundation.

3. Expected Impact and Beneficiaries

As of December 2024, the Tracker had recorded 1,314 confirmed cases, with additional incidents under review. Since the database is continuously updated, its impact figures change as new cases are examined and added.
