1. About the Campaign
Mission Gharwapsi supports the Maitreya Trust’s work in voluntary religious return, lawful identity restoration, rehabilitation, cultural reintegration, legal assistance, and emergency protection. The 12-month campaign seeks to raise ₹25 lakh to provide structured support to vulnerable individuals and families across Delhi-NCR.
2. The Problem and the Solution
Individuals who voluntarily return to Sanatana Dharma or leave their previous religious identity may face difficulties relating to documentation, family pressure, social acceptance, personal safety, housing, and livelihood. Victims of communal violence, exploitation, abandonment, or coercive relationships may similarly lack access to immediate legal and humanitarian support.
The campaign will address these challenges through:
- Gharwapsi and Shuddhi: Facilitating voluntary return to Sanatana Dharma through rituals, counselling, and community guidance
- Identity formalisation: Assisting eligible individuals with lawful Gazette notifications and corrections to official records
- Rehabilitation: Providing temporary food, shelter, legal aid, and social protection
- Cultural reintegration: Connecting beneficiaries with Hindu rituals, festivals, literature, counselling, and community networks
- Women’s support: Assisting women facing abandonment, abuse, exploitation, or threats in interfaith relationships
- Protection for former Muslims: Providing case-specific legal and safety assistance to individuals facing credible threats after changing their beliefs
- Marriage-related legal assistance: Supporting adults and families in interfaith marriage or elopement cases while respecting consent and applicable law
- Compensation facilitation: Helping eligible victims of communal violence apply for government relief and compensation
- Anti-encroachment action: Using lawful complaints and administrative procedures to address alleged encroachments on public or community land
- Rapid response: Maintaining a team for urgent, on-ground humanitarian and legal interventions
- Community awareness: Countering divisive narratives through lawful advocacy, documentation, and public engagement
3. Expected Impact and Beneficiaries
The campaign will provide an integrated support system for individuals and families requiring religious, legal, humanitarian, or cultural assistance. Its intended outcomes include:
