1. About the Campaign
The campaign supported DU Lit Fest 2024, held from 19–21 January 2024 at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi. The student-led festival brought together literature, culture, creativity, and youth expression while celebrating Bharat’s rich literary and civilisational legacy.
2. The Problem and the Solution
Young people often have limited access to meaningful platforms where they can engage directly with authors, scholars, public intellectuals, artists, and diverse literary traditions. There is also a need to make discussions about Indian literature, history, culture, and contemporary affairs more accessible and engaging for students.
DU Lit Fest addressed this need by organising:
- Author talks and panel discussions with prominent thinkers, including Sanjeev Sanyal and Swapan Dasgupta
- Poetry readings, musical presentations, and cultural performances
- Open-mic sessions, literary games, and other interactive activities
- Student-led conversations on literature, culture, identity, and national affairs
- Opportunities for young writers, readers, and performers to present their ideas and creative work
Funds supported the planning, production, venue arrangements, speaker coordination, cultural programming, outreach, and operational requirements of the festival.
3. Expected Impact and Beneficiaries
The festival provided university students and young participants with exposure to leading authors, thinkers, artists, and new literary perspectives. It encouraged critical thinking, creative expression, informed dialogue, and greater appreciation of Bharat’s literary and cultural heritage.
The principal beneficiaries included students of Delhi University, aspiring writers, young artists, readers, researchers, educators, and members of Delhi’s literary community.
