1. About the Campaign
This campaign supports the development of Durgavati Hall at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum of Indian History, founded by journalist François Gautier in 2010. The hall aims to present important chapters of Bharat’s history, culture, and civilisation through engaging exhibitions and educational resources.
2. The Problem and the Solution
Indian history is often presented without sufficient attention to indigenous perspectives and underrepresented historical narratives. Through research-based galleries, publications, seminars, and exhibitions, the museum seeks to address these gaps and strengthen historical awareness.
The ₹18 lakh grant for 2025–26 will support the development of Durgavati Hall, helping preserve and present significant historical narratives in an accessible and engaging format.
3. Expected Impact and Beneficiaries
The project will establish a dedicated gallery to promote historical awareness, preserve cultural heritage, and encourage younger generations to engage with Bharat’s civilisational history. It will serve as an educational resource for students, teachers, researchers, families, and heritage enthusiasts.
