Jhatka Certification Authority (JCA) runs a campaign against Halal Economy since 2014. It engages in promotion and certification of the Jhatka method of animal slaughter—a swift, single-stroke process considered humane and aligned with Hindu and Sikh dietary practices.
Certification & Process
JCA certifies meat vendors, processors, and slaughterhouses that adhere to the authentic Jhatka method, ensuring:
- Instant, non-ritualistic slaughter in one clean strike.
- No chanting or religious rituals during the process.
- Separation from halal or other non-Jhatka meats to prevent cross-contamination.
- Compliance with health and safety regulations.
Certified establishments receive official Jhatka labels, offering consumers a clear choice in alignment with cultural values.
Training & Oversight
JCA also provides training for butchers, maintains inspection standards, and monitors compliance regularly to uphold integrity.
With over 200 certifications granted, including growing international demand (e.g., USA, UK, Canada), JCA is working to expand consumer access to ethically sourced Jhatka meat.
